Poppins arrives in Vancouver!!

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Well it is a while since we have heard news of Patsy poppins, office tart, but fear not!! Poppins has just been for a snowy break in Canada! Check her blog for pictures! I wonder if she might find her way into Melody’s luggage for a short journey to the land of Oz…?!! Hmmm ;-) Watch out Mel!

Patsy travelled out to Canada with Anne Clay and then back again with Laura Oxley! What a traveller.

Odd…

I received a parcel this morning - 2 Christmas presents for people that I had ordered on eBay. Imagine my surprise when I found, in a sealed package, this added extra… A strange 70’s something-or-other (purse? Phone holder??) with two identical photos of some bloke inside!! ….?!?! Very confused. They are proper photos as well. Who is he?? And what is the object?

This alone shall be my prayer…

I was reminded this morning how powerful these lyrics are…

Father Let Me Dedicate (Matt Redman)

Father let me dedicate all this life to Thee
In whatever worldly state Thou would have me be
Not from sorrow, pain or care, freedom dare I claim
This alone shall be my prayer, glorify Thy name

Can a child presume to choose where or how to live?
Can a father’s love refuse all the best to give?
Let my glad heart, while it sings, Thee in all proclaim
And, whate’er the future brings, glorify Thy name

Chorus:
Be glorified in me, be glorified
Be glorified in me, be glorified

Clockwork bins at the Rising Sun

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

Today we went for lunch with JT’s Dad, Simon (big/little bro-in-law), Simon’s girlfriend Sam and her parents. We had a lovely meal and then went for a nice walk on the hill. I noticed these clockwork bins on the way in to the Rising Sun car park… Curious!!

Ha ha!!

JT came across this somewhat unfortunate bit of programming language when coding a web site this evening… (see highlighted option to the right). Clearly the computer thought that it was time for bed!!

I am not sure why this man considered 15th December an appropriate day for bermuda shorts and a coat, but it was certainly worth a not very subtle photo!!

‘Doing the Kemble’ - in the way of the LAAAADY!!

Friday, December 15th, 2006

As you can see, the girlees outnumbered the boys-ees at the watering hole last night - would anyone like to offer any advice on how to sit in a smoky old man pub like a LAAAADY??

My first example is found in the second image… A man’s OOooARRRR pint of real ale vs. a LAAAAADY ‘pint’.

A new competition…

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

OK I am stuck with a very taxing little dilemma… In my new module I have to learn to use the mighty Macromedia Flash… I have chosen an animation for a web site intro page that fits the brief set and am now trying to figure out a minor detail. Picture the scene: A puffer fish has just inflated because it has accidentally swallowed some fairy lights off a coral reef. What is its facial expression??!! It is killing me!
