The definitive Christian…

Monday, July 30th, 2007

We have also been searching for ‘the definitive Christian’… By ‘definitive’, I mean ’stereotypical’. We have found a few, but the ‘king of swing’ here in the video wins the award hands down for his spectacular prophetic dance yesterday which nearly had my lights punched out as I stood a few feet away from him. We will try to capture more footage of his spectacular moves.

Sandals and socks no more…

Monday, July 30th, 2007

It has come to my attention that Christians who are with it no longer wear sandals and socks, but now wear ‘Crocs’, those multi-coloured clogs!!  It is hilarious, George and I spent about an hour yesterday ‘Croc spotting’ and photographing the unassuming public in their Crocs.  Our mission is to find some ‘crocs and socks’ but so far people have been too street for that.  Check the facebook album…dsc00794.JPG

A cream tea disaster…

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Hmmm…  New Wine have not given our café any knives or clotted cream, but would like us to sell cream teas.  Problem.  I created a cream tea yesterday for a lady  offering her a plastic fork to use as a knife and squirting a dollop of whipped cream on the side of her plate.  By the end of this creation I actually had tears of laughter streaming down my face and had to get George to give her the finished product!

Lovin’ the B&B!

Friday, July 27th, 2007

I am settled in the Shrubbery Inn in sunny Shepton which has finest quality tartan wallpaper!!  Seriously…  It is pretty nice so far though, they even fold the toilet paper!!  The biggest novelty so far though is definitely a shower and running water.  I will keep you updated.  New Wine is rainy so far but George and I are planning to amuse ourselves by taking the ‘things wot I ‘ave learned’ post and trying to photograph everything on the list!!  I SO nearly got a navy bum bag earlier, but given the position that these are worn in, they are incredibly difficult to photograph (I am finding) without imminent arrest and jail sentencing!  More later…

Lost in Shepton Whaddon…

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Well the journey was fairly smooth until we hit Keynsham and got a little confused!!  Somewhere around Wells we got lost in ‘Shepton Whaddon’, affectionately named after we nearly got smashed into by a loud boy racer car being driven by a track-suit clad spotty youth!

Cruel dry humour…

It is the comment at the end, not sure if it was intentionally dry-humoured, or just a lapse of concentration!!   dsc00757.JPG

Sorting out socks in our house is a doddle… Can you tell which are mine and which are JT’s??
