The news in brief:

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Saturday:  JT played at a wedding, we had a lovely lunch with Kate Bird and then JT sorted her broadband connection.  After this we looked after Indi and Gabriel whilst the Rayfields celebrated their wedding anniversary with a nice meal out.  Happy anniversary you guys!

Sunday:  Lazy morning, went to the parentals for a nice lunch (and took the cats), went to church (JT played bass),  then hung out with friends after a student drinks do at the Conservatory (thanks Steve!  Enjoyed it…)  I sat on Luke’s motorbike but didn’t go anywhere.  Bed time now.

Wedding Anniversary picnic!

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

On Monday, JT planned a surprise champagne picnic for me in Eckington (where we got engaged).  It was lovely, we had ciabatta, pate, special crisps, olives, feta and cous cous salads and triple chocolate belgian cheesecake!!  We drank pink champagne, watched the sun set and launched a toy rocket (in place of fireworks which are not yet for sale in the shops!! )  I enjoyed it very much.

Thumbs up to the DSA!

I am very chuffed today.  The Gloucestershire disabilities team have agreed to upgrade me to Creative Suite 3!  I have an intel Mac, which came out after CS2, meaning that there are bugs in CS2 with the Macbook Pro.  What stars.  I think I am pushing my luck to ask for master collection rather than design premium, but I am very pleased!

woodchip, woodchip, everywhere! …And two years of marriage!

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Monday, 8:27am….  I have recently rolled out of bed and am just fixing up a few work-related items in order that I can spend day three on the decorating marathon!!  We decided this weekend, to return to the woodchip war zone that is our bedroom, as we are sick of sleeping on a mattress in the study!  On Saturday we hacked off the rest of the woodchip (evil stuff) and finally got round to purchasing paint and lining paper.  On Sunday we hung said paper and today I have to finish this task and paint.  It would be nice for us to be back in our room as I return to Uni (although it will probably be slightly after…)  I attach photos of the progress.

Today JT and I have been married for two years!  What a lot has happened in that time…

Reunion at IMMO and a tasty dinner!

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Yesterday transpired to be a rather sociable day…  After a bit of mobile phone confusion, I managed to meet Aarti, Fab, Annie and Kylie at IMMO for a drink.  It was lovely to see everyone again and as we sat, Chris arrived, followed by Ellie and then Annie’s friend Gemma.

After this we decided to walk up to the Park campus to check out the sports and societies freshers fayre.  We arrived at about 5:15 but although it was supposed to go on until 7, it had mostly finished up.  We collected our free bag of leaflets, ‘lillets’ and beer mat (nice…) and sat on the grass outside, chatting and making mice out of the free ‘lillets’(!)

JT picked me up in Percy (the car that we are borrowing at the moment) and we went home to get ready for a delicious meal at Owen and Anne’s. We had some amazing food and a really nice evening chatting and laughing - thanks guys!

Winners at last!

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Well I am pleased to report that after many £1 entry fees spent, many 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th places, the mighty pub quiz addicts have finally won a quiz!!  HOORAY!  Last night at the Rising Sun we won our trophy - a cheap bottle of wine and some cheap chocolates.  We have yet to open the correct cash box but I have every confidence that we will crack it one day…

Comedy from Wales

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Thanks to George for this moment of comic genius as she returns to Cardiff for year 2 (sniff!)  Yes, it is actually an old man dressed as a pixie (pointy shoes et al) playing the RECORDER!!  Cheers for a great summer G!
