It’s official!

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Well, it’s official! The Turners are moving house on 20th December (are we MAD?!) Where? Just round the corner. We got straight A’s on our references (luckily we haven’t handed our current letting agent the questionnaire which states how incompetent they are - ‘guilt’…) and so we are now able to serve our notice and move.

Our sitting room looks something like this:

The whole of the new place requires some serious modernisation - particularly decorating (can’t WAIT to show you the carpets and wallpaper, what on earth were they thinking?!) but at least this time round we are actually allowed to do that.  At present you walk into the hall and are met by a kingfisher blue, mustard yellow, brown and black swirly carpet, which meets a sitting room with a brown and beige fleur de lise (how do you spell that?!) type effort.  The dining room is green, the bedrooms some sort of brown and don’t even get me started on the padded wallpaper.  The bathroom wallpaper is the most unique.  as if a green suite wasn’t foul enough (although marginally more tolerable than our current orange one and they have at least changed the bath for a white one!), they decided that cream and peach tiles would complement the suite along with green, yellow, brown and dark green geometric (loosely) wallpaper!  ARRRRGGHHHHH!!!

Stripping parties at ours then!!!  Wallpaper stripping that is…  Sorry!  Watch this space for moving news.

This next track reminds me of playing in the street when I was 10… It was on the radio a lot and vividly brings back memories of the kids in the street (we spent our entire life outside….)

Stuart, Chris and Longstone at Slak

Last night we went to an excellent gig (managed to survive!)  Stuart, Chris and Longstone were playing at Slak.  If you ever get a chance to see a Longstone gig I definitely recommend it, they are really cool.  Live electronica with experimental accompaniments.

This made me feel a little nervous

It is back!

1 new LCD inverter

Several new key caps

Fans cleaned and re-pasted

Smelling of a pleasant sort of polish

All for the grand total of…….  Nothing.  How I love a three year on-site warranty, except for it taking over a month to fix!!  At least I have a little bit of my work back, now I just have to wait for news of my back-up disk with *all* my work on it!!

Tribute

The T’s send all their best wishes to Jeff and Sarah Martinez, who moved back to the States on Monday.  We’ll really miss you both.  We attended a lot of Jeff’s gigs and recommend his album “Trips to the Empire State” which you can download on iTunes.  This is one of his newer songs which he has just made a video for:

All the best guys!

Woke up with one of my favourite tunes in my head…… Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack. I love this tune it is so atmospheric and can be listened to in almost any situation. The best situation is walking through a city at night that has quietened down for the evening but is still alive, do you know the sort of atmosphere I mean? I hope it brings a little ambience to your day!
